S21 Sounder Control Module

Sounder Control Modules are addressable devices that provide a means to remotely locate a fully supervised NAC circuit.

Distributed Architecture

All FC-250 modules operate independently. There is no central operating system, no central point of failure. Processing power is distributed throughout the campus, increasing system survivability, eliminating home-run wiring costs while decreasing downtime due to system maintenance.

Highly Survivable

Since NAC’s and SLC’s are grouped on the same module and events are processed locally, ALM modules will perform local operations even if network communication has been severed. Distributed modules also minimize campus-wide downtime by restricting maintenance to the local module.

Sounder Control Modules are addressable devices that provide a means to remotely locate a fully supervised circuit for the operation of signal appliance such as horns, strobes and horn/strobes.

Sounder Control Modules connect to the SLC and are programmed via an 8 pin DIL switch (1-7 for addressing, 8 for Class A/B).

Notification appliance circuits are rated for 2A. A separate external 24V power supply must be used. The external supply must be power limited per NFPA.

The contractor shall furnish and install, where indicated on the plans, addressable interface devices for the monitoring, supervision and control of addressable NAC circuits or PA speaker circuits connected to the Fire Alarm control. The devices shall monitor and activate/deactivate NAC appliances or Speakers. When used to monitor/control NAC appliance circuits the addressable device must be capable of synchronizing with other similar devices attached to the same SLC. The addressable interface devices shall communicate to the main fire control via the analog addressable circuit. The addressable interface device must be UL/ULC listed and UL/ULC listed as compatible with Harding network fire controls. The addressable interface device shall be Harding part number IOM2107.
